For His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. II Peter 1:3
Many times as a Christian (when I trust in my own strength), I feel like I am not equipped to be fruitful, effective, useful or good. Christians are called to be holy, to be kind, to use wisdom, discernment, have a pure heart and so often I find myself lacking. A verse like this reminds me NOT to go in my own strength, or rely on my own feelings. God, with His infinite power, has equipped me and given me everything that I need to live a life filled with godly attributes from Him. It is up to me to seek Him through prayer and by putting His Word in my heart and to grow in Him.
It is His desire to fill each of us with everything we need, to equip us and make us holy through Him. What a blessed promise and encouragement to walk – not in my own strength, but filled with the strength, endurance and power from our Lord.
