This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put My laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be My people. Hebrews 8:10
On a recent field trip to a museum featuring the days gone by, we sat in an old schoolroom as the teacher introduced us to the quill pen and bottle of ink. She cautioned us to use extreme caution using the ink and told us that if it got on our skin or clothes, it would not come off.
This reminded me of this beautiful promise from Hebrews. God told His people he would put His law in their minds and write it on their hearts. This is a covenant which cannot be broken. He loves us and wants us to know Him through His Word.
As we read more and more of His Word, it becomes written on our hearts. And…it will not come off!! It cannot be erased. His Word will guide us in times of trouble, provide grace, mercy, forgiveness, joy, peace and strength….everything that we need for anything that we will face.
What a beautiful and faithful promise to hold on to. May we have open hearts for Him to write on.
I love that!! the ink will NOT come off your hands...exactly the picture of God's word and promises! And thanks for all the links and heads up for great sites to visit yesterday.
ReplyDeleteBTW...your blog is just my absolute favorite to look at:) So cute!
Beautiful thoughts, I love thinking about His promises that are yea and amen!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful analogy between God's Word and the possible ink on your hands from the trip to the museum. I love when God uses an ordinary item like ink to remind us of Him and His word. Thank you for sharing this lovely post and lovely thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration... and a wonderfully encouraging word this morning!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Both the message and photo!
ReplyDeleteI love when imagery of something visual impacts a scripture/truth, making it all the more alive... like the parables. This WFW is one of those for me, thank you!
What an encouragement it was to me...
Happy WFW and blessings to you...
Love that verse and that is such a great pic!

Stopping by from my first week with WFW...of which I didn't know I needed to have a picture too...next week I'll get it right. :-) I am now following you, I'd appreciate if you'd follow me too, if that is something you would like to do. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful!! I have a friend who says all the time that we must KNOW the Word such that it never comes off our heart! How awesome it this!
