Organization is a major vision for me! I'm still a work in progress, but I have found that simplicity and organization help keep my home and family running smoother. Beginnings always inspire me in the way of organization. New school years, a new weeek etc, so this morning I got motivated in a way I did not choose.
DH had to get up thirty minutes before me. He had just got up and was in the shower. I was in that blissful half awake/enjoying every extra minute of rest when I heard him from the shower mumbling "where is the shampoo?? who moved it???" My mind immediately flashed to the previous night when DS needed shampoo in his bathroom as he was empty. And being a typical teenager, I guess he forgot where it came from! Attempting to be a good wife (which is sometimes easy, sometimes more challenging - at 5:00 AM, it was more of a challenge), I cheerfully (it was not a growl, so at that time of the morning that is considered cheerful) asked him if he needed the shampoo and I heard relief in his voice and he said "yes, please". Since I had to get out of bed anyway, I decided to go ahead and stay up. But what a great morning it was with 30 extra minutes!! I was able to read my Bible - to get strength and wisdom for they day, do a short exercise routine, clean the kitchen and make a batch of cranberry nut muffins - all before getting the children up!
I am reading wonderful book "A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George and in the chapter I read today a great quote was "the greater the proportion of your day spent hidden in quiet, in reflection, in prayer, in study, in scheduling, in preparation, the greater will be the effectiveness, the impact, the power, of the part of your life that shows."
So, that inspired me to begin my week with that in mind, preparation, organization and a continual striving to be a blessing to others.

I am jealous of your blog!!! I love how it looks and want mine to be more personalized. You are going to have to show me some of your secrets.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the organizing. I am married to someone who HAS to have things organized which makes me keep things in order for the most part. Sometimes it is such a pain but in the end it makes our house run so much smoother. And I am just glad he helps me out with everything... Okay he is just wonderful. :)
Keep up the blogging!
I would love to be organized, but don't seem to have the time to work on it. Share your secrets with me!!
