Since you have recently been bombarded with family events and pictures lately, and the prom pictures are not posted yet(!!!), I thought I would try to share something inspirational.
Galatians 5:22 describes the fruit of the Spirit which is an overflow of God in our hearts and brings about these qualities: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..."
Most people identify or are attracted to one or two fruits listed above and desire and cultivate this particular quality.
I pick JOY! This does not mean that I am always a joyful person, but I want to be, I want to exhibit joy in all circumstances. When I read something about "joy", I perk up and pay attention. This happened when I recently read this:
Joy is a by-product of a life of service to God and others. When we serve God and others, joy is a blessing of this.
The joyful Christian faces life without fear or complaint. Each new day is a new challenge. Each problem is an opportunity to grow and see God work. Good attitude huh??!!
God fills us with all joy and peace in believing so that we abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit This comes from one of my favorite Bible verses. God is our portion - He fills us up, so we can abound and overflow!
Have a joyful week!
