In our home, I have the famous poem of "House Rules" on our refrigerator. You have heard them over and over, don't take it if it isn't yours, leave things where you found them, if you drop it, pick it up etc., and I find myself repeating these suggestions most every day. I am believing they will sink in - one day!! These rules are designed to help the home run more smoothly. I recently found an article with 21 Suggestions To Live By. As adults, these are great suggestions for us to live by. Most of these are common sense, but it never hurts to have that repeated. So, here are a few:
1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
2. Don't believe all you hear, spend all that you have or sleep all that you want.
3. When you say, "I love you", mean it.
4. When you say "I'm sorry', look the person in the eye.
5. Don't judge people by their relatives.
6. Talk slowly, but think quickly.
7. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
8. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
9. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
10. Remember the three "R's"; respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for your actions.

Great rules to live by. We all need to be reminded of these from time to time.
