Look What Daddy Brought Home...

Last Saturday we had a lot going on at home. There was to be a cookout that evening for our youngest son's birthday. I had been to town to shop for food etc., husband and sons were mowing the grass and I was getting food prepared. Daddy needed to go get some gas for the lawn mower, so off he went on a simple errand - just to get gas. When he came back, he told the birthday boy to go out to his truck and get the package out of the front seat.

What do you know - this little guy popped out!
This son has been asking for a puppy since Christmas. Dear Husband and I evaluate and rationalize things like this for a while: who will take care of it, where will it sleep, etc... we don't make rash decisions, but as husband was getting the gas, there were puppies available and he stopped and picked one up!

Needless to say this made the son extremely happy! He sure is a cute little guy isn't he? We named him Scooter and he seems to be fitting right in!

Don't worry, there will be lots more pictures and updates on our puppy adventure. Thanks Dad for a great gift!

  1. I know all too well the joys and trials that new puppies bring. The joys far outweigh the trials. Scooter is adorable!

Thank you for praying for my family and me. My daughter is fine but stranded in southern Texas due to the hurricane. She called and she sounds pretty sad. She was due to come home today. They have no electricity and some food but they have begun rationing it. I'm trying to not worry as she is in the Lord's hands.

  2. What a cute little puppy! He looks like a puppy from the litter of pups our dog had several years back.

  3. What an adorable puppy. Scooter is so cute. I too, want so much to glorify God with my blog. I recently gave my blog address to everyone I went to high school. That was a scary thing to do, because it is giving out all my personal life, feelings, quirks, etc. I am praying that many would come to Christ from hearing the Scriptures on my blog, and a few things that God has done for me. You have a great goal too. Very good. May God bless you blog. Kathi

Sometimes We Score, Sometimes We Block

Our family is in the midst of little league soccer season. My youngest son is playing and his enthusiasm is contagious. He is pretty good at the sport, but what makes it so great is that he loves it! He counts the days until the next game or practice. He loves his coach and teammates. He has moved up an age level this year and the players are working more like team, passing to each other and watching out for each other during play. During the last game, my son scored two goals, they were the only goals of the game. In today's game the team scored eight goals. My son came up afterwards to me and said, "I didn't score today, but I blocked". What a powerful truth those words can hold. In life, sometimes we score, sometimes we block. Sometimes we do great things, we excel, we achieve, we meet our goal - we score! There are also times we see the needs of others, sometimes they are sad or hurting, we block their hits. We look out for them so they can score. We...

Word Filled Wednesday – Act Justly

He has shown you, O man, what is good;       And what does the LORD require of you                But to do justly, To love mercy,       And to walk humbly with your God?    Micah 6:8 Sometimes we struggle so hard with the question “What does God want us to do and be?”  This verse is a simple yet powerful reminder of some simple things that God requires of us.  Act and do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before God.  There are numerous opportunities each day to do justly, to do the right thing or to make the right choice.  We love mercy when we show kindness or mercy oftentimes to those who do not deserve it.  Walking humbly before God is acknowledging He alone is God.  He is the I AM – no one else is.  When we give Him the glory He is worthy of, it will humble our heart before Him....
