At the Well


I just found a fabulous encouragement for Mondays: At the Well - In Pursuit of Titus 2. Come join me At the Well as we pursue our calling as Titus 2 women.
Today the discussion is:

Welcome Home Daddy!

How can we lay a welcome mat of love for our husbands after a long day of hard work? How can we make our homes inviting places where Daddy longs to be at the end of a long day? How can we involve our children in this process and teach them to show reverence to their Daddy?


In our home, my husband has a very stressful job. Each morning I cover him with prayer for his upcoming day. But, by afternoon, I am tired from working and usually beginning supper preparations, the kids are underfoot and many times it is not a welcoming time for Daddy. Reading others posts have inspired me to make this time of day more pleasant. Some things I plan to pay more attention to are:

A happy greeting - smile, hug and kiss!

A tidy house - each of our "daddy's" have a certain way they like things. It is funny that through this post topic it has been mentioned that most men have a need for honor, love, respect, quiet atmosphere and FOOD! This seems to go well with our daddy also!

A listening ear,

Some resemblance of peace and order in the home!

Focused attention - not on the phone or computer!

Dinner either being prepared or planned for.

I don't have a lot to offer for suggestions, but appreciate the encouragement of At the Well to make this time of day more special.

    I am so THRILLED you've joined us today At the Well. May I say, I LOVE your teachable spirit. This is what the Well is all about. Some weeks we will come with things to offer and some weeks we will take home wonderful words of wisdom.

    It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels like this. I call it my "rush hour" of the day.

    I'm excited to refocus the little energy I have left on allowing God to show me how to use that chaotic time to still be a blessing to my husband.

Our family is in the midst of little league soccer season. My youngest son is playing and his enthusiasm is contagious. He is pretty good at the sport, but what makes it so great is that he loves it! WFW – Write It On My Heart

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel       after that time, declares the Lord.    I will put My laws in their minds       and write them on their hearts.    I will be their God,       and they will be My people.  Hebrews 8:10 On a recent field trip to a museum featuring the days gone by, we sat in an old schoolroom as the teacher introduced us to the quill pen and bottle of ink.  She cautioned us to use extreme caution using the ink and told us that if it got on our skin or clothes, it would not come off. Construction, Challenges, Chaos

 Who knew something simple could erupt into something chaotic so quickly? A broken file cabinet forced us to purchase a new one. We found one online, ordered it and it arrived quickly with a do it yourself assembly book, complete with 24 part packages and 18 steps of instructions!  As we unpacked the items and compared with the instruction book, we realized a part was missing. Customer service was called, a replacement part was quickly received. Except, the screws did not fit into the holes on the replacement part. We tried again, received another part, same issue.  Meanwhile, the 24 packages of parts are spread out on my living room floor, customer service does not understand my issue, they asked for photos which were sent and now we are again, waiting for a part.  It seems every project faces the inevitable delay.
