Beginning December 1, I have been reading a devotional titled "A Family Christmas Treasury" by Adrian Rogers. This little book has a devotion for each day of December. It begins with wonderful words to prepare hearts to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
I want to share today the main truth to begin the Christmas season with:
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
This is the heart of Christmas, Jesus is God's great love gift, because Jesus came to give His life that we might have life and have it to the full. Truly love came down at Christmas.
Since Christians realize this gift given to all, may we in turn share His love with others especially during this season. Love is a gift our world desperately needs. May our actions and words always portray Christlike characteristics this season. Kindness, smiles, patience and thoughtfulness are ways to spread Christmas love and cheer. May we reflect our Father's love to all during this joyous season!
AMEN! As Christians we need to show the heart of God to others, especially at this time of the year. There is a lot of rudeness in the world today but it certainly doesn't need to come from Christians.
ReplyDeleteBefore I clicked on the comment link to make a comment, I had decided my comment would be "Amen." I see my husband and I must think a lot alike. That was his first word on his comment. I really think that says it all.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Spiritual Sunday.

I too, say AMEN! The most wonderful time of the year should be about showing the love of Christ to everyone we come in contact with; both in word and in deed. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Wonderful thoughts, thanks for sharing and challenge us to share the real meaning of Christmas and may it continue after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAmen! What beautiful thoughts you've shared this morning, this time of the year we as Christians need to stand out :).
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!

Oh, Adrian Rogers has a wonderful testimony for God. Thank you for this devotion. Happy Spiritual Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI too say AMEN. My religious leader said this morning that during the Christmas season the following attributes seem to flow freely from people:
ReplyDeleteGiving, Happiness, Hope, Faith, Forgiving, Thankfulness, Family, Reverence, Reflection, Prayer, Charity, Love, Patience, Kindness, Peace, Good Will....
Then he pointed out that if you take the mas off of Christmas you have Christ and all of those attributes come from Him.
So sad that we can't all seem to hang on to them all year. My goal is to continue to strive to have those feelings with me all the time and not just at Christmas.
Thanks for the wonderful post.
*hugs*
What a beautiful reminder to us during this holiday season (and always!!)!
