Let me go ahead and confess that I have spent waaaayyy too much time this week looking through other blogs, lots of them!!! But... I found some very enriching and encouraging blogs which have been a great blessing to me. Each Friday KatyLin hosts "My Husband Rocks". The purpose of the weekly post is to encourage and lift up husbands and to share at least one thing your husband said or did this week that reminded you of why you love him.
Since I love my man so much and consider myself blessed beyond measure to be married to him, I had to join in!
DH (Dear Husband) works a 28 day rotating shift. Each shift is 12 hours. These are long days, but they lead up to several days off at the end of the rotating shift. Of course, this is the highlight of the rotation and of our home. A few times a year the company does a "turnaround" which is a time where repairs are done and everyone must work regardless of where they are in their shift rotation. Well...turnaround fell on DH's week off. The turnaround ended yesterday and today he is scheduled to go back to his regular shift rotation and work all weekend. So, he missed his week off and then has to jump back in without missing a beat. He has put in a LOT of hours this week.
The reason I want to share about this week is that through the grueling days and long hours, he has not complained and has been so pleasant to be around, even through his exhaustion and stress. His willingness to work so hard for our family expresses his love for us. His ability to conceal his fatigue and focus on the family is wonderful. If I had worked so hard, I would be a bit grouchy and irritable and the whole family would know it! But, that is why "my husband rocks" and I am so proud of him!

That's wonderful! I'm so glad to hear your compliments on him. It's great to be around people who don't complain, even when it's well within their rights to do so. Great post!
ReplyDeleteFirst, your blog is absolutely beautifully put together. I really enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is a dear. My husband is also a patient man and I admire that quality. Complaining was something I use to be really bad about esp. when I was tired. So I notice the lack of this trait in others as I continue to allow the Holy Spirit to work through me and chose to live without it in my life as well!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am looking forward to getting to know you better.
Have a great day!
what a blessing! a hard-working man is sometimes hard to find :) welcome to MHR Fridays!
