My Husband Rocks

My Husband Rocks is hosted by Katy Lin each Friday. It is a fun way to express love and appreciation for the things our husbands do and also includes a challenge for the upcoming week to show him how much he is loved.
I wanted to be on the lookout this week for opportunities to share for today. It didn't take long to find something he had done nice. At our home, I work part time and every day DH (dear husband) works it is a 12 hour shift. I gladly assume responsibility for most of the household chores and cleaning. DH had worked all day Sunday. I went to church that evening and knew he would be home before I got home. I left a quick dinner of Sloppy Joes on the stove. When I got home he had washed all the dishes from the dinner left. In addition he had set up the coffee pot for the next morning, pulled the bed covers back and had the alarm clock set up for me. Those are little things, but go way above the call of duty after a long hard days work.
There were three challenges presented this week:
1. Be patient. As the Love Dare book puts it “Resolve to say nothing negative to your spouse.” Our words have the power to build up or tear down in an instant, and unfortunately the destructive possibility is much easier, and quicker than the re-constructive. Let’s be very careful with the things we say to our spouses this week.
2. Tell your hubby how much you appreciate him. Many times it is easy to tell others how great he is, but he needs to hear it also!
3. If you haven’t seen the movie Fireproof, or even if you have, have a date night this weekend and rent or buy a copy for yourselves! This is a fantastic movie, you and your marriage will be blessed by seeing it.
Hope you all have a great weekend, be on the lookout for the good, turn a blind eye to the bad!

  1. Great blessings and great advice! I have my copy ordered and it should be in today. I can't wait to watch it again. Steve and I are going to do the Love Dare after watching it again. We can't wait!

  2. How sweet!!! :) Mike just doesn't think of those kind of things. He just don't,but it's not bad. He does other things for me. He doesn't think he is sweet, but he is hehe.

  3. What a fantastic idea! I'll definitely have to hop on over to Katy Lin's on Fridays.

I just discovered the My Husband Rocks shirts and just blogged about my shirt today. Great minds thinking alike!

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy my visits to your blog:)

  4. What a great idea for us gals to esteem our sweet hubbys. Your husband sounds so sweet! What nice things he did for you!

    Hugs, Sharon
