I recently came across a quote I had written down years ago: "Never be in a hurry, do everything quietly and with a calm spirit. Do not lose your inward peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world becomes uspet." The reason this stirred my heart was that this attitude comes from a quiet and peaceful heart. So often our actions come from our emotions and are a result of what is going on in our lives. If we are stressed or going through a trial, the outward attitude can be rushed, chaotic or distraught.
Gods gives us an inward peace which guards our hearts and minds. Phillippians 6:8 tells us to "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." It is my desire to live purposefully, striding forward with a calmness in my heart no matter what the circumstances around me are. What a blessing that we have the assurance of endless peace that keeps our hearts and our minds.
Dear relatives have been visiting in our home for a few days and just now left to drive five or six hours across the desert to California. Now we are sad. And we are always concerned when loved ones are traveling. I just read your splendid post and it has calmed my heart. Thank you for posting these good words.

I have had some of my family visiting the last two weeks and it has been a very busy time, especially with a baby around the house. I also have had a trying situation in my extended family taking place which has been heavy on my heart. Thank you for your post; it has reminded me to give it to God and allow Him to take care of the burden for me. Have a wonderful day.

This is such good advice. In our hurry scurry society it is easy to lose our peace. We need to be reminded from time to time. Thank you for this reminder today.
