Today is Word Filled Wednesday where God's Word is shared in verse and picture. The verse I chose today is special to my heart, especially this week:
This week, my oldest son will graduate from high school.
Our church honored the graduates last Sunday:
It is unreal how fast the time goes by. I don't feel prepared for this milestone and am bombarded in my thoughts on how much I still want to teach and prepare him for the transition of growing into adulthood. It is also a time to release him to make his own choices and choose his paths of life.
What a comfort and help God's Word is in every situation that we face. It is a Living Word and speaks to us today. Proverbs 3:5,6 is the perfect verse for this time of life for my son. It is an encouragement to trust in the Lord and not to think that we know it all. It provides the promise that if we seek Him, He will direct our paths. It sums up the fact that our help comes from the Lord and we can walk securely in His direction. It also brings comfort that through every transition and challenge, God is with us and will guide us through.

Oh goodness - so many emotions! I pray that God will encourage all of you...to enjoy your memories of these last years with joy and embrace the days ahead with excitement for all the God has planned for your son. Hope graduation night is a "highlight" of this year for each of you!! Enjoy, Mom!!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful verse ~ and great pictures ~
ReplyDeleteMy oldest will be a High School Senior next year. It's a bitter sweet time.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you, your family, and your son.
Happy WFW!
I love that scripture! It is one of my all-time favorites.
ReplyDeleteIt is just kind of sad to think of it used in this context. I know it is a great thing for our children to grow and move on their own. But it saddens this Mama. Why does it have to happen so soon? You're right, though. We need to trust in the Lord and He will direct our paths and our children's paths. Thanks for that great reminder today!
It seems so far away, but I know it won't take long before my girls are where your son is. That verse is one that was hidden in my heart, long ago as a little child, and comes to mind still when I have choices to make.
ReplyDeleteGreat verse! Congrats to the graduate, too. Happy WFW!
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious WFW.
