I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth;
Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth;
Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD. Psalms 40:1-3
Although I live with four guys who love fishing, I just don't seem to "catch" what is so fun about it. You sit and you have to wait very quietly for a nibble. Sometimes it takes a long time and sometimes you never get a bit. It can really stretch my patience!
Sometimes we are asked to sit quietly and wait for the Lord. Sometimes, that is not easy. But we know because He told us in His Word, that He hears us and that He will answer our prayers. What a blessing that we can rest easy while waiting patiently for Him.
I laughed...I live with a few who "get" fishing and I just don't...but this is just a perfect, perfect reflection! The image is priceless!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome image to leave me with!

Patience is something I'm learning. It's not always easy though but a necessity.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

That is precious. I have that verse about the song on my music website I think. Blessings ~
ReplyDeleteWhat words. We need to be reminded and yes, it is often difficult to do. What a very sweet picture. Surely fishing is a time of much waiting.
ReplyDeletePrecious, precious, precious! Just LOVE this one!!! And oh, so true! Hubby and daughter "get" it, I just don't, lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, He always hears my cry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious picture and a very true verse - I struggle with this SO much. I totally get it!
ReplyDeleteGreat WFW!
Love it.....maybe you need to be out on a boat to 'get fishing'
ReplyDeleteMy Dad had only one real relaxation and that was fishing...and so as an only child I learnt to fish. I must admit there is a lovely sense of peaceful waiting rocking out there on the waves....good for daydreaming.
I love the verse that tells us that God waits to bless us.....I am sure you will come to fine a special stillness where just sitting and waiting if right for you. I did not enjoy taking fish off the line!!! I was that girly!
