Friday With Friends is hosted by Jennifer and is a time of  sharing with our blogging friends.  It’s always a fun time to open up and share among friends a little bit about ourselves.

Today’s topic as fall is rapidly approaching is to share a quick review of our summer. Our family didn’t do anything elaborate, mainly because in the deep south, it is SO hot!  It has been said that the summers in the south are a tiny bit like the harsh winters in the north because we are so often stick to the inside because it is too hot to be outside for long periods of time.

Our summer started right off with our middle son having surgery to have his gall bladder removed.  He absolutely refused to let us take any pictures!  But the surgery and recovery went very smoothly.

Children’s Church camp found myself and two of our sons spending a week at a local campground.  Me with a cabin full of girls, them loving the camp atmosphere filled with swimming, fun and of course Bible study.

Summer found little league baseball ending for my youngest and Church softball season beginning for out two oldest sons.  Many hot, muggy evenings found us at the ball field, cheering our guys on:

It doesn’t seem like we did very much, but apparently, we created some great memories this summer!

    Looks like a really fun summer for sure - didn't realize your son had surgery (too funny that he knew to let you know NO PICTURES....can you believe my girlfriend has already told me no pictures on my blog when we get back from our trip - well, no pictures of her!) Glad he recovered well to enjoy all the fun of summer:)

    Those pictures of the guys jumping off the rocks - still gets me! AHHH -

Our family is in the midst of little league soccer season. My youngest son is playing and his enthusiasm is contagious. He is pretty good at the sport, but what makes it so great is that he loves it! He counts the days until the next game or practice. He loves his coach and teammates. WFW – Write It On My Heart

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel       after that time, declares the Lord.    I will put My laws in their minds       and write them on their hearts.    I will be their God,       and they will be My people.  Hebrews 8:10 On a recent field trip to a museum featuring the days gone by, we sat in an old schoolroom as the teacher introduced us to the quill pen and bottle of ink.  She cautioned us to use extreme caution using the ink and told us that if it got on our skin or clothes, it would not come off. Construction, Challenges, Chaos

 Who knew something simple could erupt into something chaotic so quickly? A broken file cabinet forced us to purchase a new one. We found one online, ordered it and it arrived quickly with a do it yourself assembly book, complete with 24 part packages and 18 steps of instructions!  As we unpacked the items and compared with the instruction book, we realized a part was missing. Customer service was called, a replacement part was quickly received. Except, the screws did not fit into the holes on the replacement part. We tried again, received another part, same issue.  Meanwhile, the 24 packages of parts are spread out on my living room floor, customer service does not understand my issue, they asked for photos which were sent and now we are again, waiting for a part.  It seems every project faces the inevitable delay.
