Word Filled Wednesday – Keeping Heart

Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.

Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
Do not turn to the right or the left;
      Remove your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:24-27

Our heart is such a vital part of all that we do.  God’s Word tells us that what is inside the heart is what overflows in our outward actions.  Sometimes that may be a little unsettling!!
But this beautiful verse in Proverbs not only reminds us to keep our heart diligently, it offers practical ways to guard our heart.

  • By watching our words
  • Keeping our eyes straight ahead
  • Watching where our feet take us
  • Always go in the right direction, do not be detoured.

May we be diligent with our hearts and let it spring forth a life of love for our Lord!

  1. I love the graphic you chose with this verse. It is such a wonderful reminder of God's purpose in our lives. Have a happy WFW!

  2. amen to keep diligent with our hearts!! great reminder to watch and guard our hearts (and our lips too :) I think that's why there are so many Proverbs about controlling the mouth, because it also involves, of course our heart and its condition!

    very wise words!

  3. God keeps reminding me - it's all about the heart attitude! And your lovely graphic with those inspirational words of encouragement are a great reminder. Thank you for a lovely Word-Filled Wednesday.
