Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. – Romans 12:10
Love is not selfish. I am selfish. Thinking of others and honoring them above ourselves is a biblical command. Selfishness is more than just a bad attitude, but comes from a love of self that is settled in the heart. But through prayer, taking God's Word into the heart and deliberately acting with the intent for the good of our mate, God can make a change in our heart and bless our marriage through honoring one another.
The Dare for today is:
Whatever you put your time, energy, and money into will become more important to you. It’s hard to care for something you are not investing in. Along with restraining from negative comments, buy your spouse something that says, “I was thinking of you today.”
What a fun idea:) No doubt, one of my love languages is buying gifts, so this idea is great for me. Not so sure Hubbie receives them with the same enthusiasm but that's not the point, right?
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying these "dares":) Have a great Thursday
