Do you have a go-to verse? One that blesses you and encourages you over and over. One that brings strength in time of trouble. One that you repeatedly seek out and go to.
Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
Psalms 37:3-5
This passage ‘found me’ several years ago. It reminded me to not look to the circumstances that are being faced, but to commit to the Lord and trust in Him. Whatever is to be done, He can do it. This passage through the years has popped up in devotions, sermons and through Bible readings. During numerous struggles through the years, this verse would be found and bring hope.
Now, I look for it! When I need to remember where to put my trust, where to turn or don’t know the outcome, I go to this Word and am helped.
Praise God for His Word, it is living and can be applied to our lives. It provides hope, comfort, strength and direction. If you need a place to hide in times of trouble, to gain strength in times of weakness, find comfort in times of grief, find hope in a crisis or need to simply praise the Lord for His goodness, find a ‘go to’ verse and hide it in your heart. Find it, memorize it and go to it to keep it alive in your heart.
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove that verse, too! My favorite is Proverbs 3:5. You know the one, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...".
ReplyDeleteAh, so good to dwell in the Word in the morning...
I love that and the photo is beautiful! I have a lot of "go to" verses, depending on the situation. :o)

Love that verse. My "go to" is Psalm 23:6 -"Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, joyful thoughts to turn to in all seasons of life. I have visited from Women Living Well Wednesdays - and I am leaving encouraged. Thankyou.
