Do you know that your home speaks much about you? Not the dark secrets of our lives we joke about 'if the walls could talk', but our homes are a projection of who we are, what we like and what we hold close.
Let's walk through our homes and pay attention to what our homes are saying:
Walls: What we display on the walls is what we like to look at but also where our heart is. Family, art etc. Scripture displayed on the walls of a Christian home shows the priority we place on God's Word in our lives and home.
Walls: What we display on the walls is what we like to look at but also where our heart is. Family, art etc. Scripture displayed on the walls of a Christian home shows the priority we place on God's Word in our lives and home.
Displays: Are there bookcases or shelves for nick naks? These things are often things of value we like to keep in our view.
Furniture: How are seating is reflects our style - welcoming, cozy, formal etc.
Kitchen: What's out on the counter? It is usually what we use daily. Is our kitchen 'busy' or stagnant (hardly used)?
Bathroom: Again, what is on the counter? Is it visitor friendly? Soap, towels etc. in sight and ready for use?
Bedrooms: In our private rooms, are we deliberately making it full of atmosphere or is it a room where we put forth little effort and let it all fall where it may? A clean bedroom promotes peace and calmness. Special touches make it our own space where it is a pleasure to come to.
Clutter?: Most homes have a 'hot spot', where piles seem to naturally gather. Clutter can also get out of control in a hurry! Periodically sorting through these hot spots keep clutter down and give a more peaceful and orderly home.

You feel settled in your life. You have enough time to focus on little details.

Interesting quiz. However, they don't allow for the kid factor - I may clean the bathroom, but it doesn't mean it is going to stay that way! :) I buy a lot of groceries, but the kids eat start munching as I unpack...I had 11 people living in my home last year. NO WAY I could keep the fridge full. OK, I'm just making sure y'all know I'm not a complete loser, 'cuz I feel like I just flunked that quiz.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, it was fun to mentally go through my home and think about what it's saying to others. What message do I want it to be giving? It was a fun exercise. Thanks!
