Earlier this week the discussion At the Well centered on creating a calm, less stressful Christmas that reflects the true meaning of Christmas. You can read my post Keeping Christ in Christmas.
These pictures were from 2006 and in the stress of the holiday season, I just insisted that we were having a photo shot for our Christmas cards. I made the boys dress in camouflage and wanted the horse in the picture. It had to be my way and my way NOW! Well, as I learned, there are some things you just cannot create and a loving Christmas photo is one of them! Here are our attempts!

Not a smile in the house! We did not use these photos, thankfully(!), but I learned a valuable lesson that Christmas, enjoy the real reason for the season and not to get caught up in things that don't hold nearly as much importance as celebrating Jesus' birth.
Oh no! They don't look too impressed. I'm afraid I do this to my boys sometimes, too. It's pretty hard to get them to smile when they're annoyed with me!
ReplyDeleteUh-oh! They never smile when you want them to and the minute the battery goes out on the camera, out come the smiles!
ReplyDeletesuch seriously men! lol
ReplyDeleteAmen. You said it. I guess your children said.."Mom can make me take a picture, but she can't make me smile." :)
ReplyDeleteI hope this Christmas will have a lot more smiles :) :) :)
Have a great and bless weekend!!
Oh my goodness I am laughing, just because I have been there with my three boys. Thanks for the message and reminder.
ReplyDeleteThat is to funny! They look like they are ready to pounce on you! Kids do not always do what we want them to. You made some memories though!:)
