The Joy of Learning

This August marked the beginning of homeschooling for my family.  Since this is new and a vitally important part of daily life, I am often wondering about my nine year old, “Did he get it, are the lessons sinking in…etc.”
One day this week, we were outside and he came running up to tell me, “Come look at this spider, she has prey!”   So, our science lessons about insects came alive as we got up close and personal with Mrs. Spider and of course took pictures!

  6. I would say you are really a step ahead of the game is you are already understanding that sometimes LEARNING is more important than worksheets. Not that worksheets aren't important, but sometimes we can focus too much on crossing something off a list instead of letting the world unfold before our eyes. Good for you! Great moment.

  7. Oh how cool is that. I really don't like spiders, but have to say this one has beautiful markings.
