Making your home sing Mondays

Home is somewhere that often we don't think hard about, but is more a place that is felt in our heart. We may take being home for granted, but when thinking of how to describe 'home', we instinctively know how it feels.   It is also easy in the busyness of moms who keep the home to overlook some of the precious and vital things that go on in our homes.

Home has been described as a launching pad for the family.  What is learned in the home, is what is projected when we leave home. Our attitudes, how we treat people, our work ethic, speech and actions that are practiced daily in the home are what others see in our daily walk.  How we dress, how we talk, how we play etc. begins at home. 

A powerful Bible verse that reminds me of how to act in my home is found in Psalms 101:2,3

I will behave wisely in a perfect way.
Oh, when will You come to me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.  NKJV

I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me?
I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.  NIV

Now of course we are not perfect and surely fall short daily.  But our aim, vision and goal should always be to seek God's ways and to aim high.  If we aim at nothing, we will hit it every time!  Our families and homes should be the reflection of a mom seeking to fulfil her highest calling which is a heart for the home.

    What a perfect fit for that verse! As you said, it all starts at home. We teach and train our children at home, we model our values and behavior at home, we love and cherish one another at home.

    that is a great verse in trying to live a life in honor of the Lord! I think the psalms are filled with "tidbits" like this to lead a life glorifying to God and modeling to our children how to live for God.

    Great verse - and a great reminder. We can often be so careful how we treat, act around and respect/love our friends, church family and others...and then be neglectful to take the same care at home.

Our family is in the midst of little league soccer season. My youngest son is playing and his enthusiasm is contagious. He is pretty good at the sport, but what makes it so great is that he loves it! WFW – Write It On My Heart

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel       after that time, declares the Lord.    I will put My laws in their minds       and write them on their hearts.    I will be their God,       and they will be My people.  Hebrews 8:10 On a recent field trip to a museum featuring the days gone by, we sat in an old schoolroom as the teacher introduced us to the quill pen and bottle of ink.  She cautioned us to use extreme caution using the ink and told us that if it got on our skin or clothes, it would not come off. Construction, Challenges, Chaos

 Who knew something simple could erupt into something chaotic so quickly? A broken file cabinet forced us to purchase a new one. We found one online, ordered it and it arrived quickly with a do it yourself assembly book, complete with 24 part packages and 18 steps of instructions!  As we unpacked the items and compared with the instruction book, we realized a part was missing. Customer service was called, a replacement part was quickly received. Except, the screws did not fit into the holes on the replacement part. We tried again, received another part, same issue.  Meanwhile, the 24 packages of parts are spread out on my living room floor, customer service does not understand my issue, they asked for photos which were sent and now we are again, waiting for a part.  It seems every project faces the inevitable delay.
